About Pequawket Kids Association

The Pequawket Kids Association (PKA) offers afterschool child care and enrichment programs in MSAD #72 for students in grades K-5 at Brownfield-Denmark Elementary School, Charles A. Snow Elementary School and New Suncook Elementary School.

PKA brings the school, community and local resources together to introduce and encourage new areas of interest and to build on students' academic abilities.  Every day, students are offered an enrichment activity by a dedicated staff member, teacher, professional, parent or volunteer.  These activities are designed to stimulate students' interest, enhance learning, promote positive social interactions and increase students' positive perceptions of themselves.

Students are involved in both energetic and quiet activities.  They are supported in the important goals of socializing with others, working cooperatively and developing problem-solving skills.

Because parents pick-up their children at the end of each day, PKA staff have the opportunity to develop relationships with the parents which enable both parents and staff to work together for the benefit of the children.

Pequawket Kids Association is proud to have had the following letter from a parent appear on April 9, 2009, in The Conway Daily Sun.

The Pequawket Kids Association provides a wonderful place for kids to learn and grow.

The program is very well organized and provides many options for activities.  From exploring nature with Tin Mountain to learning new computer skills to working on a service project for the Humane Society, there really is something to interest any child.  In addition to the daily programs, the children get help with homework if needed, a healthy snack, and time to play outdoors or in the gym.

I have to say that my whole family benefits from Pequawket Kids Association-it's great to be able to pick up a happy kid just in time to fix dinner, rather than living with the complaints of "I'm bored", the sibling squabbles, and the nagging to watch TV and play video games.  I would definitely encourage parents with children to take advantage of the wonderful opportunity we have in Pequawket Kids Association.
