Put your imagination in gear and go! Join the Pequawket Kids Association for an educational fundraising event, "Hug-a-Truck," at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds on July 17. Rain date is July 18. Children of all ages will be provided the opportunity to touch and explore over 30 fascinating vehicles including trucks, cranes and tractors. It will surely be a day that will be remembered for years to come! The gates will open at 10 am and the event will close at 2 pm. The cost of admission will be $5 per person with children 2 and under entering free. Refreshments and t-shirts will be available for purchase.
All proceeds will benefit the Pequawket Kids Association, a 21 st Century Community Learning Center that works with elementary schools in MSAD #72 to provide quality afterschool and summer academic support and enrichment programs. PKA offers parents a safe, affordable place for their children when school is not in session. While at PKA, children enjoy healthy snacks, have opportunities to socialize, do homework, receive individual or small group tutorial support, play and participate in fun activities. The University of Maine's Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center serves as a community partner, supporting PKA's mission to enrich children's lives by providing overnight and summer camp programs. PKA is funded by grants and sliding scale fees. Money raised at Hug-a-Truck will be used towards scholarships so that all families have the opportunity for their children to participate.
